NTUSU 30th Anniversary U-Insight Writing Competition

NTU is home to meaningful stories. The knowledge we learn, the activities we join and the precious bonds we forge weave a beautiful tapestry of our time spent here – a defining experience worth writing about.

As part of NTUSU’s 30th Anniversary, we invite you to submit a creative work responding to the themes of ”Eudaimonia – Happiness or Wealth” and “Veni Vidi Vici – I came, I saw, I conquered”. Stand a chance to win Kinokuniya vouchers, and have your entry featured in this special limited edition of U-Insight magazine!

Eudaimonia is an ancient Greek philosophical term that refers to the condition of human flourishing. According to Plato, Eudaimonia is the highest aim of moral thought and behaviour.

Veni, Vidi, Vici, a famous Latin phrase spoken by Julius Caesar when he achieved victory in battle, directly translates to “I came, I saw, I conquered.” This phrase has often been quoted in art, music and film.

What are your interpretations of these themes? We would love to hear from you!
