New Sheltered Walkways and Crossings to Improve Campus Accessibility!

Rain or Shine, Your Walk Just Got Easier!

Ever dashed across campus in the rain, balancing an umbrella, your laptop and a coffee, only to arrive at class drenched? Over the past semesters, NTUSU has received feedback from students about the lack of sheltered walkways and safe crossings on campus.

In close collaboration with the Office of Development & Facilities Management (ODFM), NTUSU championed the need for improved walkability and accessibility across campus. Through meetings and site walks with ODFM, we worked to identify key problem areas where students faced the most inconvenience, particularly along routes connecting high-traffic academic and residential spaces.

As a result, a brand-new sheltered walkway and pedestrian crossing has been completed beside the NTU Innovation Centre and Valley Blk. This addition means more than just keeping you dry. It enhances safety, makes routes more convenient and supports a more inclusive campus environment for all.

NTUSU will continue engaging ODFM to explore the feasibility of introducing more sheltered walkways and safe crossings across campus.
