OUR USSOCIATES

STUDENTS SUPPORTING STUDENTS

Ussociates are a team of over 500 dedicated students who go beyond their academic journey to serve and support their peers.

They play an active role in NTUSU’s initiatives, from organizing welfare programs and driving student advocacy to managing U-shop that raise funds for financial aid.

Ussociates serve across NTUSU’s 18 committees, which are broadly categorized into 5 divisions - Student Activities, Policy, Finance, Secretariat, and Communications.

Guided by our Union motto—Voice, Service, Vibrancy—they are the driving force behind a more engaged, empowered, and inclusive student community.

Read below for a brief description about each committee and what they do!

POLICY

RESEARCH AND POLICY COMMITTEE

The Research & Policy Committee (RPC) is dedicated to elevating the student experience in NTU across six policy pillars: Sustainability, Healthcare, Empowerment, Academics, Transport and Housing & Facilities.

Adopting a data-driven decision making approach, RPC collects student feedback through events and initiatives such as U-Walk and U-Feedback. Collaborating with the Deputy Policy Executive and the Policy Division, RPC advocates for student needs by presenting insights to various university stakeholders, fostering a continuously improving campus environment.

WELFARE INITIATIVES COMMITTEE

As students, we know that life is stressful. The Welfare Initiatives Committee (WIC) serves the student body by providing them with moral support through our welfare initiatives, such as our U-Study events. WIC also hopes to raise awareness for students to take care of their own well-being.

FINANCE

CORPORATE LIAISON OFFICE

The Corporate Liaison Office (CLO) serves to foster strong and sustainable partnerships with external corporations, with special regards to sponsorship deals in the form of student discounts (NTUPerks) or sponsorship of NTUSU events.

U-SHOP COMMITTEE

The U-Shop Committee oversees the day-to-day operations of the U-Shop, our very own merchandise store. The majority of U-Shop’s profits are contributed towards the NTU Student’s Bursary.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

WELCOME WEEK COMMITTEE

The NTU Welcome Week Committee is responsible for organizing and executing Welcome Week, a three-day event that welcomes new students to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) at the start of the academic year.

This committee plays a key role in helping freshmen integrate into university life, build connections, and develop a sense of belonging in NTU.

STUDENT INTEGRATION COMMITTEE

The Student Integration Committee (SIC) serves as the key support mechanism to ease the transition for international students, and seeks to celebrate the rich cultural diversity within NTU.

Through our events and initiatives, we seek to foster meaningful bonds, create a fully inclusive environment and promote a sense of belonging to curate a respectful campus space.

MINISTERIAL OPEN DISCUSSION AND EVENTS

The Ministerial Open Discussions and Events Committee (MODE) strives to bridge the gap between the student population and political office holders.

In providing opportunities for youths to contribute their thoughts and suggestions to the political and civil society, MODE hopes that NTU students can play a part and discuss Singapore’s political scene.

Established in 1997, Union Orientation is one of the biggest orientation programmes in NTU organised by the Union Orientation Committee (UOC), aiming to ease your transition into University and striving to offer the best experience to kickstart your exciting journey at NTU.

Guided by our student leaders, you'll be welcomed with open arms into the vibrant NTU community and into the UOC family — a place many call home. This invitation extends to all NTU freshmen, regardless of faculties and halls, uniting everyone in a collective celebration of beginnings.

UNION ORIENTATION COMMITTEE

NTU FEST COMMITTEE

The NTU Fest Committee, hand in hand with the Welcome Week Committee, organizes wide-reaching and inclusive projects promoting campus vibrancy. The committee is also known for its post-orientation flagship event, which serves as a celebration to bring a close to orientation period and welcome students back to school.

OPEN HOUSE COMMITTEE

The Open House Committee organises NTU's annual Open House event, providing an avenue for the student body to showcase the vibrancy of NTU student life to prospective students. These are done through liaison with the Office of Admissions, Student Affairs Office, and the various CCA clubs in NTU.

ORIENTATION LIAISON COMMITTEE

The Orientation Liaison Committee oversees Club, Hall and Faculty Orientations. They assist the Orientation Executive in co-ordinating, relaying information to, and deconflicting Orientation activities across various Orientation Committees.

COMMUNICATIONS

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Communications Committee is in charge of all forms of NTUSU communication and branding; social media, online editorial publication, photo-video and other media projects.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE

The Public Relations Committee plays a pivotal role in overseeing communications between the Union and student clubs, monitoring social media channels for key issues faced by the student body, and driving initiatives to build meaningful connections with other universities.

Dedicated to enhancing the overall student experience, we work closely with the Public Relations Executive and the Vice President (Communications) to ensure that student voices regarding university life are heard and addressed.
