CCAs of NTU 2025: Check out what student leaders have to say about their clubs!
When people hear about the Japanese Appreciation Club, the first question we often get is: "Hey, is that the anime club?"
Well… Anime and manga are definitely part of what makes Japanese culture famous worldwide, but there is so much more to discover. From traditional festivals and food culture to serene shrines and temples, Japanese culture is full of fascinating gems.
One of my fondest memories in the NTU Floorball Club was during our Novice Club tournament, an event where players of different skill levels team up for a day of intense yet lighthearted matches. The energy was electric, filled with cheers, friendly banter, and the shared thrill of the game. That’s when I realized this club wasn’t just about floorball; it was about the people.
IGC Senior Camp 2025—this is just one of many unforgettable moments at IGC, where orientation is more than just games and icebreakers. It's where students step out of their comfort zones, bond over shared values, and discover the deeper meaning of volunteerism.

Contemp{minated}: A Wholesome Space for Every Dancer
Are you looking for a community of passionate, well-spirited dancers to grow and express yourself with? Welcome to Contemp{minated}, NTU’s very own contemporary dance club that celebrates creativity, connection, and self-expression.
From our first steps into this environment, it wasn’t just the movement or music that resonated with us, it was the atmosphere. There was something deeply heartwarming about being surrounded by dancers who weren’t afraid to try, fail, and try again. This club has become a safe space where dancers can express themselves freely and experiment with their own styles, all while being supported by like-minded individuals.

Established in 1983, Nanyang Technological University Chinese Orchestra (NTUCO) is currently one of the most active member clubs under the NTU Cultural Activities Club, with over 130 members. Since its establishment, NTUCO has made tremendous progress under the tutelage of conductor Mr. Ng Seng Hong and fellow instructors. Since 1997, NTUCO has organized large-scale annual concerts, Transient Reminiscences, which have been well received. Besides annual concerts, NTUCO also regularly organises overseas exchange trips, participating in joint concerts and cultural exchange programs in Beijing, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau, enriching our members both culturally and musically.
Regular Service Project for the Intellectually Disabled (RSPID), one of the first RSP of NTU Welfare Services Club works closely with West End, a group under MINDS MYG, to conduct weekly sessions for our Intellectually Disabled service users. Our purpose is twofold: to help our service users develop useful social skills, and to create a meaningful avenue for NTU students to give back. By engaging directly with persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs), students are given the chance to forge genuine bonds and challenge any preconceived notions they may hold about disability. Ultimately, RSPID offers not just a space to serve — but to reflect, grow and connect deeply with others in the process.

There is something inexplicably heartwarming about a child laughing their heart out. That is how I felt during one of my volunteering sessions. The sport we were doing for that month was boxing, and I was paired with a non-verbal child. I tried holding her hand to punch the animal balloons, but she kept retracting her hand. She had made it clear to me that boxing was not interesting to her, which made me anxious, because I had no idea how I could engage her. I also knew that I could not talk to her, or play something like ‘scissors, paper, stone,’ which frazzled me. Then somehow, randomly, I held up the animal balloons, and started to make animal noises, pretending that the balloon was talking to her. AND SHE GIGGLED.

Introducing: NTU’s resident guitar ensemble! Picture an orchestra, where every instrument is a guitar. Look no further than Nocturne’s past editions: from Bizet’s “Habanera,” to John Powell’s iconic “How To Train Your Dragon” pieces and K-Pop stars SEVENTEEN’s “Pretty U,” we perform anything and everything (with guitars)!
