Written by: Tham Yi Xuan Lecia, Chairperson
Ever thought about learning a new dance or taking your skills to the next level? Join NTU CAC DanceSport Academy and be part of a lively community where dance and fun come together!
Our Purpose: Bringing Latin Dance to Life
DSA was established to bring Latin dance to NTU students, offering a space where everyone – from beginners to advanced dancers – can learn and grow together. Our focus is on the five core Latin dances: Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. Whether you are looking to dance recreationally or compete at a higher level, DSA provides a supportive and welcoming environment for all.
What We Do: Learn, Perform, Compete
At DSA, we offer a range of activities to give you a well-rounded dance experience. Through regular training, workshops, and social events, you’ll improve your technique, build confidence, and make friends. Members get exclusive access to workshops and practice sessions with experienced dancers for personalised guidance. You will have plenty of chances to perform at campus and external events, and to compete locally and regionally. We also organised our own competition in collaboration with Aquilia Dance Academy, letting members learn what happens behind the scenes. These experiences help you challenge yourself and grow as a dancer.
Our Community: Passion and Support in Every Step
One of the best parts of DSA is our vibrant and close-knit community. From your first dance steps to your competition debut, you will find support and encouragement from fellow dancers. We emphasize teamwork, mentoring and making lasting friendships – both in and outside of practice. It is a space where everyone is eager to learn, share knowledge and help each other improve.
Your Dance Adventure Awaits!
No dance background? No problem! We welcome anyone with a passion for dance. Whether you’re looking to boost your confidence, stay active, or develop discipline, DSA is the place for you.
To stay updated on events and get involved, follow us on social media and drop us a DM to join our regular practice sessions – happening every Tuesday and Friday, 6.45pm - 9.00pm at NYH.
DSA is more than just dance – it's about connecting with like-minded individuals, pushing your limits, and growing together as a community.
Join us and be part of NTU’s vibrant Latin dance community – let’s add some spice to your university life!
