"Every second counts."
Did you know that nearly 1 in 3 deaths in Singapore is due to heart disease or stroke? Every day, 23 lives are lost to cardiovascular disease (Singapore Heart Foundation). With early CPR and a defibrillator, survival rates can improve drastically. At CDLH, we believe everyone can be a lifesaver—and we aim to empower NTU students with the life-saving skills to protect others, possibly someone’s loved one.
We aim to:
Equip students with lifesaving skills like CPR+AED and first aid
Promote emergency preparedness through outreach and training
Build a campus and community that’s resilient and ready
We support the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s mission of a prepared and responsive society, and we believe students can—and should—be at the heart of that movement. What NTU CDLH have accomplished are the following events in supporting our aim to promote and encourage people to learn lifesaving skills from students to the wider community in Singapore:
1. Safety and Security Innovation Festival 2025 at Jurong Spring CC (8 March 2025):
3 expert-led fireside chats spotlighting emergency care, national threats, and meaningful careers in security
A mass CPR/AED exercise in partnership with the Singapore Heart Foundation, engaging close to 100 participants
11 interactive booths anchored in Total Defence, from scam prevention and digital safety to psychological resilience
2. Sponsored CPR-AED Training for members and subsequent Instructor Training (Apr 2024):
Learn how to operate the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and how to do a proper Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) under safe and guided atmosphere
Equip participants with the skills to recognize cardiac arrest and perform CPR and AED use
Not only do we provide CPR+AED training courses, but we also provide Instructor Courses to those who want to be equipped with the skills and knowledge to effectively teach others these life-saving techniques.
3. Learning Journey to Changi Airport with Airport Emergency Services (March 2024):
Members got to have a look at the amazing machines that help keep Changi Airport very safe
Members got to have a hand on in their equipment and get to sit in these amazing vehicles
4. SCDF Responder Plus Programme (RPP) at NTU (Oct 2023):
Exclusively for NTU students and Staff to attend and it was held in the heart of NTU campus

CDLH is low-commitment but high-impact.
We understand students have academic priorities, so we operate on a flexible, ad-hoc basis. You choose the events and sessions you’re available for. Perfect for those who want to contribute meaningfully, without overwhelming your schedule.
Beyond the skills, it’s the people that make CDLH special. Our members come from all walks of life—but we’re united by a shared drive to serve. The vibes? Friendly, supportive, purpose-driven. Even if you’re shy or unsure at first, you’ll find yourself welcomed into a tight-knit, passionate team. We are all driven by a common goal and purpose which makes us united as one and even become close friends in the end.
Joining is easy—just approach us during Welcome Week at our booth or sign up through our interest form! We welcome everyone—no prior experience needed. We’ll provide all the training you need. If you’ve got the heart, we’ll teach you the rest!
