CCAs of NTU 25’: NTU Corporate Banking Club

Written by: Murukesan Neha, Vice-President

Step into the world of corporate banking with NTU’s Corporate Banking Club (CBC). Our club serves as a platform for students eager to explore the industry and educate themselves beyond what’s taught in modules.

At CBC, we aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and the real-world banking industry. Our club is designed for students who want to understand banking beyond the surface. Whether you are considering a career in corporate banking or simply want to broaden your financial knowledge, we provide opportunities for you to learn and grow!

What sets CBC apart is that no prior experience is needed to join and no interviews are necessary! Unlike many banking or finance-related clubs in NTU, we place more emphasis on being a learning club where we offer a space for students to explore, ask questions, and build their knowledge from the ground up. Our sessions are structured to support beginners, making CBC the perfect starting point.

My experience with CBC has been an incredibly fulfilling one. The club has provided me with a supportive space to learn more about different aspects of corporate banking, from technical knowledge to the importance of client relationships. Having understanding and patient training ICs definitely made my time at CBC even more enjoyable. This was made better with the seniors who were always willing to guide us along the way.

Another key highlight for me was participating in the case competition, where we worked together as a team to analyse a real-world business scenario. It was a great opportunity to apply what we had learnt, challenge ourselves, and bond with one another in the process.

Beyond just regular sessions and fireside chats, CBC also provides opportunities to experience the industry beyond the classroom. Last year, our members had the opportunity to travel to Wuxi, China, where they visited different banks, explored financial institutions, and connected with industry professionals. This was helpful in not just gaining exposure to banking, but also in immersing themselves in a new environment, bonding as a batch, and building memories that stretched beyond academics.

In the past, we’ve also welcomed speakers from renowned institutions such as J.P. Morgan, DBS, and many more, offering members an inside look at real-world banking careers. These sessions give our members not only technical insights but also practical advice from experienced professionals. They also had the opportunity to ask them questions and interact with them after the session and learn more about their experiences.

Corporate banking is all about building relationships, understanding businesses, and delivering financial solutions. By joining CBC, you’ll gain valuable insights into the industry, develop both technical skills and financial knowledge, meet like-minded peers, and build connections with professionals in the field.

Come meet us at our booth at NTU’s CCA Fair to learn more. We can’t wait to share more about the CBC experience with you and we hope you consider joining us this AY!
