Find Your Voice at NTU Choir: Auditions Open!
Love singing? Love music? NTU Choir is calling for new voices to join our family this August! Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, NTU Choir welcomes you to be part of something greater, where voices come together to create music, community and growth.
Our Purpose: Finding Harmony
NTU Choir was founded to give students a space to engage deeply with the art of choral singing, forge lasting friendships through shared music-making, and represent NTU with pride on both local and international stages. As a student-led ensemble, we believe choral music is for everyone, regardless of background or prior experience.
At the heart of our choir is a belief that singing is a profoundly human act. Choral music connects and transforms not just an audience, but the singers themselves. Here, you will find a supportive environment where every member is encouraged to grow in confidence and expression.
What We Do: Learning, Listening, Layering
Our core activities revolve around three pillars: twice-weekly rehearsals, community events and performances. In rehearsals, members develop excellent musicianship; vocal techniques and vocal flexibility under the guidance of the acclaimed conductor, Yong Chee Foon, and passionate student leaders. Community events such as gatherings and section dinners foster strong bonds and a supportive, close-knit environment. Through performances and competitions, we share our music with wider audiences and challenge ourselves to achieve artistic excellence.
We offer plenty of opportunities to put your musical knowledge into action through creative projects and performances. Last AY, we proudly represented NTU in Berlin, where our singers experienced world-class music-making and returned with two Gold Diplomas, emerging as Category Champions in both categories we competed in.
Back home in Singapore, we share the festive spirit by carolling a wide Christmas repertoire for the local community.
At our annual concert Cantemus, student conductors are invited to lead a song of their choice, and original compositions by members may even be selected for performance. Whether you’re singing, arranging, or conducting, NTU Choir offers the space to create and shine.

NTU Choir is a family built on trust, shared purpose, and the joy of making music together. We listen as one, breathe as one and support one another, on and off the stage. Through every rehearsal, gathering and performance, we build lasting bonds that make the journey through university one of companionship and shared joy.

Interested in joining NTU CAC Choir? Entry is through auditions and we would love to hear you sing! Auditions will be held from 18 to 20 August, and sign-ups will be released soon. Our choir is open to students from all academic backgrounds, no prior choral experience is required. If you love music, are willing to learn, and want to be part of a supportive musical community, we want to hear from you.
