Every Shot Counts: Life at NTU Archery Club

There’s a special kind of silence right before you release an arrow—the world fades, your focus sharpens, and it’s just you and the target. That moment is a core memory for many in NTU Archery Club (NTUAC), and it perfectly captures the spirit of what we do.

Who We Are

NTUAC is a member club of NTU Sports Club, open to all NTU students—undergraduates and postgraduates alike. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned archer, our club is the perfect place to explore the sport. We aim to build a community that values Teamwork, Perseverance, and Professionalism, while helping members grow both in skill and character.

What We Do

We offer two archery disciplines: Olympic Recurve and Compound. Our weekly training sessions are guided by professional coaches and senior members. These sessions are more than just practice—they’re opportunities to bond, exchange tips, and improve together. Occasionally, we also host friendly matches with other archery clubs, giving members a chance to experience casual competition, meet fellow archers, and build connections across schools.

We also host Funshoots and Basic Archery Course at the start of the school term, open to anyone curious about archery. No gear or experience required, just show up and give it a shot! For those interested in competition, we prepare for tournaments year-round, including the premier institutional outdoor championship in Singapore, the NTU Institutional Archery Championship (NTU IAC), which brings together archers from universities and polytechnics across Singapore.

Our Community

Outside of training, NTUAC is a tight-knit, supportive team that shares your passion for precision and growth. Beyond the range, we host bonding camps, festive events like Halloween, and spontaneous hangouts that bring members closer together. From post- training suppers to late-night gear chats, the club vibe is warm, welcoming, and full of laughter. You’ll find friends who cheer you on, help you improve, and celebrate every bullseye with you, on and off the field.

How to Join Us?

Joining is easy! Visit our booth during Welcome Week to learn more about our club or follow us on Instagram @ntuarchery for updates. No prior experience or equipment is needed, just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm. We’re looking for people eager to learn, grow, and be part of a passionate community.

Here are what some of our archers have to say

"Joining the Archery Club transformed my university experience in ways I never expected. Beyond learning focus, discipline, and resilience—values that help both in academics and life—I found a second family. There’s something special about the way archery brings people together: the quiet encouragement during practice, the shared determination to improve, and the genuine friendships forged along the way. Whether we’re celebrating a perfect shot or laughing off a miss, the camaraderie here is real. If you’re looking for a place to grow not just as an archer, but as a person—surrounded by supportive, like-minded friends—this is it. Come as you are, and leave with skills, values, and bonds that last far beyond the range."

- Lev, Year 1

“Joining NTU Archery Club has been a unique and memorable part of my uni life. Starting off as a beginner, I really appreciated how supportive my senior was — even helping me with equipment during the exam period — which showed me how welcoming and dedicated the club is. Being involved in organizing competitions gave me the chance to contribute meaningfully, and it was genuinely fulfilling to see everyone come together and work as a team. It made me feel like I was part of something bigger and gave me a strong sense of belonging as an archer within the club.”

- Kai Qiang, Year 1
