CCAs of NTU 25’: NTU’s Inline Skating Club
Written by: Ho Yun En, President
Introduction
Imagine skating under the stars with your friends after a long day of classes. The wind in your hair, music playing from a Bluetooth speaker, and the sound of laughter echoing through campus. That’s the kind of memory you’ll make at NTU Inline Skating Club, a place where wheels meet friendships and every session becomes a story.
Purpose
NTU Inline Skating Club is open to everyone, regardless of experience. Our goal is to create a space where anyone can pick up a fun, active hobby while building bonds with others. For beginners, it’s a chance to learn something new and boost confidence. For seasoned skaters, it’s a platform to grow in skill, whether it’s perfecting a Slalom trick or nailing your first Slide. At its core, our club is about community, movement, and stress relief.
Community
The club culture is very friendly and welcoming. Outside of sessions, we occasionally have dinner together before CCA, go on urban skate trips around Singapore, and support each other at events.
It’s easy to feel like part of a family here. Many of us came in as strangers but ended up forming some of our closest friendships through shared falls, laughs, and progress on wheels!
What the club does
Many members join with no skating background and can barely even stand up in skates on their first session. Within a month, most of them can cruise comfortably and even attempt some basic tricks! Patient seniors are always around to guide and teach you every step of the way.
We hold sessions every Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7-10pm, where members can practise basics, Slalom, Slide or even just a chill skate around the courts.
Beyond that, we hold fun events like evening urban skates, inter-club exchanges and many beginner-friendly workshops!
Commitment is flexible, so come regularly or whenever your schedule allows!
Joining the club - One step away!
No experience? No problem! Many of our members joined without having touched a pair of skates before. All you need to do is join our Telegram group (look out for us during Welcome Week!) and we’ll guide you from there.
We also loan skates to members so you don’t have to commit to buying gear immediately. Just bring your enthusiasm — we’ll take care of the rest.
If there’s one thing to take away, it’s that NTU Inline Skating Club isn’t just about skating — it’s about growing, connecting, and creating memories that’ll stick with you long after graduation. Catch us at Welcome Week for a free 10min tryout and come say hi — we’d love to have you roll with us!
