CCAs of NTU 25’: NTU Chinese Orchestra (NTUCO)
Written by: Dong Jiayun, Outgoing Chairperson
Established in 1983, Nanyang Technological University Chinese Orchestra (NTUCO) is currently one of the most active member clubs under the NTU Cultural Activities Club, with over 130 members. Since its establishment, NTUCO has made tremendous progress under the tutelage of conductor Mr. Ng Seng Hong and fellow instructors. Since 1997, NTUCO has organized large-scale annual concerts, Transient Reminiscences, which have been well received. Besides annual concerts, NTUCO also regularly organises overseas exchange trips, participating in joint concerts and cultural exchange programs in Beijing, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau, enriching our members both culturally and musically. NTUCO's dedicated members are not confined to annual concerts alone. We actively participate in numerous gigs, spreading our musical talents to diverse audiences. Notable engagements include performances for the Huayi Festival of the Arts and Singapore Heritage Festival. These appearances showcase the orchestra's versatility and commitment to sharing our music with various communities.

Overseas Exchange!
We sometimes hold overseas exchange trips to facilitate networking opportunities with overseas Chinese Orchestras, laying the foundation for potential future collaborations. Additionally, it enhances our members’ teamwork to work closely with various orchestras during joint rehearsals and performances. These experiences help to develop effective communication strategies to overcome language and cultural barriers while building interpersonal skills and lasting relationships with fellow musicians all around the world.
